Wi-fi message: authenticating error occurred. ????????????????????????

Thank you for your kind suggestions. The problem is now resolved. Like Nett-I recommended worked best. I rebooted the router. I restarted my S3. Then under my wi-fi connection, i clicked on "forget" my home wi-fi connection. When the device searched again for the home connection and found it, i entered the password and accepted it. Thank you everyone for your help. You all rock!!!!!!

Guess what !! I went yesterday to Samsung service center, and they tried to connect my phone to their Wifi network but they could not. They formatted the phone and restored to factory default, then tried again, they could not connect neither. At last they took the phone to do maintenance within a week.

Note : as i said before when i faced this cennectivity problem, i checked the internet and i found many people have the same problem.
Just search in Google for "Samsung galaxy s3 authentication error" and you will find many complains !!!!

Just got off the phone with Samsung support and was told Samsung is looking into this issue.

I was having a problem with connecting my Galaxy s3 to my home wi-fi and it took me 3 days to figure it out. I was getting an "authenticating error occurred" every time i tried. I talked to Verizon support on the phone, Verizon support in the store, Century Link about the router, and finally Samsung support. The problem was that i didnt reset the router the right way. I pushed in and held in the rest button, unplugged the power to the router while holding down the reset button for 10 seconds, plugged the power back into the router and released the reset button. I connected to my home wi-fi with in minutes. I wish someone told me how to reset the router 3 days ago. Hope this helps somebody out who was having the same problem.

I am also having the same issue after the firmware update I took a few days back. Is there a way to roll back or do I have to restore to factory default?

I had that message first time I tried hooking up to my home router and I just turned phone off and back on it connected right away.

I am having the same problem. I can connect to my 5.0Ghz network but not the 2.4 Ghz network..So why is this ???? even at the U.S. Cellular store I cannot connect the the wifi. I have wiped my phone several times with no luck.
