Blank Screen Problem with Galaxy S3

    Hi Everyone.

I am not tech savvy and have a blank screen issue with my S3. I woke up to answer a call and couldn't answer it. Instead the phone was showing a blank screen. After pressing the button at the bottom centre of the phone, the phone returned to the standard Samsung locked screen and I thought I was fine. But once I swiped to unlock etc, I returned to a blank screen. I began pressing the screen and once I pressed right at the top of the screen, I received these menu items "wifi", "GPS", Sound, "Screen Rotation" and Power sharing" and "Notifications". The rest of the screen is black and I can't do anything with the phone. If I press any other button I just receive a blank screen again. I have just pressed the button at the centre bottom and strangely I get the options "task manager" and "remove all. I pressed on task manager and the screen went blank. I think there is a fault. I live in Africa and unfortunately, we don't have a great after sale service and I need the phone.

Can someone help. Apologies if I don't seem to be making any sense.

by the sounds of it, it sounds like a hardware issue, i'd take it back to where you bought it to claim a new one on warranty depending on their warranty policy or go straight to a samsung service centre

Thanks. It now seems to have sorted itself out, miraculously after I have fully charged it. Concerned that it may happen again.

By the way do you known how to transfer ITunes tracks from a PC to the phone?

drag and drop should work i think, i haven't used itunes in a while otherwise i would suggest using doubletwist to use as your PC music player. it's like itunes but for android

I got the S3 two weeks ago. For about 10 days I was experiencing problems with the settings. I would go to the Verizon store and they would fix it, I would be happy, and then when I turned the phone off and on, the settings would revert back. So I returned the phone and they gave me a new one because they determined the old one was defective. The next morning when I woke up with my second phone, the screen was black. My alarm went off to wake me up and I couldn't turn it off. So I called verizon and they told me to take the battery out and put it back in. It seemed to resolve the problem, but I had to reset all of my email accounts and settings. That was yesterday. I actually kind of liked the phone until this morning. The same thing happened. My alarm has been ringing for over an hour now. I am returning the phone. Obviously, Samsung has not worked out it's hardware/software issues. I want to throw the phone out the window because I am so frustrated.
